brief tastes of autonomy

Aprilia is deeply into MoshiMonsters and several other PC based "edutainment" packages at the moment.  Quite litterally she would spend all day on there if I let her, and I probably would let her if we could find one of her 3 pairs of specs    It’s doing good things for her basic skills and is much less stressful for me than trying to get her to put pen to paper so I’m letting it run for now but my control freeky nature is vaguely bovvered!  But she does need a break from SonLight (as do I truth be told!) and projecty stuff just doesn’t float our boats very much so this is at least allowing me to feel that boxs are being ticked!

We have baked this afternoon, snickerdoodles with extra added cashew nuts, not tried one yet but they smell good :D

On Saturday Aprilia got awarded with her orange sash which she earned at the celebration a month ago.  Lovely soft satin sashes this time like what we are meant to have, not horrid hard belts.  I did coo over it a bit and muttered about having to buy myself a nice soft yellow sash to replace the belt until the next celebration (December) and was told in no uncertain terms that me remaining a yellow sash until the next celebration was not going to happen (I skipped out on the last one in favour of going and playing at Wombwell.)  So I guess I’m going to get tested during a normal training session then.  At least I will know that I’ve earned it though, I really wasn’t up to standard when they did the celebration, especially with having missed so many classes.  But I’ve been doing Thursday nights as well as Saturdays for a few weeks and that has really made a difference as Thursdays is a really small class so it’s easier to see how things work.

Heard yesterday that the HPC have finally sent out notice to R about what the accusations are against him and inviting him to respond.  This is "step one" in the whole investigation process (bearing in mind this has now been going on since about August of last year) but from this point it should go to a panel and then a hearing pretty quickly (by their standards anyway)  I’ve not spoken to R about it yet but I got a fairly frantic text off him yesterday.  Aparently the gloves are off now so I’m assuming that a) he’s actually going to start fighting back at last and b) they have accused him of something far and above the original matter.  I feel like I want to do something just so the family know we are supporting them but am at a loss as to what.  Taking out a hit on the accusers seems a bit extreme not to mention out of my budget although there have been moments when it’s been an appealing prospect…. 8-o  I’m toying with just leaving some wine and chocs on the doorstep, don’t want to intrude on them as R tends not to be too sociable when stressed (if he’s even home, he does have a tendency to find the nearest mountain to run up when he’s sad….) and I can do that during the day when K is at work so I’m not going to put her on the spot but they both know I’m only half an hour away if they do want company.  Does that sound okay?

  1. sounds good to me, think you’re being very supportive by text as well, so they know where you are.

  2. I know I’d be touched by it - anything that says “I’m here if I can do anything” has to be a good gesture.
