A trip to the Porticos
Well, the less said about the journey the better really…. suffice to say that 1 hour after setting out we drove past the end of our road on our 3rd attempt at finding a route to the motorway that was not blocked with traffic or closed by the police. It set the tone really!
Aprilia had a rather lovely pony riding lesson with Buttercup throughout which she beamed contentedly. She also had a good healthy walk (well, I’m not sure she thought it was good, she isn’t that keen on walking but she plodded on with good enough grace anyway!) and spent a fair while leaping about in the huge paddling pool with all the young Porticos. Meanwhile, I chatted
I believe there was also a degree of DSing going on, naturally.
Wednesday we were at the RI which also encompassed Aprilia’s first ever ride on the Tube and first encounter with London. It was lovely to meet up with T41 and C, and to be favoured with a request to sit next to C! There was a certain irony in the presenter of the RI event being from Salford really considering how far I had fetched Aprilia to hear him but hey! I got to see the RI!!!! It’s been on my "To See" list for a few years! Next time I’m not taking her so I can spend more time gazing round and less time having my arm pulled out of it’s socket
And, being so close, we then trouped off to the Science museum where we chatted, confident that the "Explainers" would educate our children for us
Aprilia was somewhat worn out by all that excitement and demanded to be put to bed not long after tea, then reappeared because she was "too tired to settle on her own" but was quickly rendered settled when offered "Mort" as a bedtime audio book. And, yes, I know it’s wholly unsuitable for little ears!!!!
This morning there was further DSing and such likes and then we ambled off back oop north. We have both had a really, really lovely time, thank you all very much!

Um, my kids are listening to Equal Rites, Mort is next. Doesn’t seem unsuitable to me - Tim and I listened to large portions of Colour of Magic on way to and from north to remind ourselves how it works

@ Jax, it’s Death’s language at times that made me wonder… storyline is fine, humour is right up her street, I’m just paranoid about her repeating something she shouldn’t in polite company!
