who stole my weekend?

I’m fairly sure it happened but it seemed to whip past a bit sharp-ish, I’m wondering if someone stole a few hours of it!

Saturday AM I was fairly pleased to discover that all the Christmas excesses hadn’t made me grow out of my KF suit (good job really, can’t afford another one!) although it was a bit more snug than I remember it being….. must have shrunk in the wash (they do you know….)  No idea what happened to the afternoon but I realised rather too late taht Aprilia was supposed to be at a party  and kept quiet about it as she hadn’t remembered either.

Sunday I was at Wombwell and both Harley and I had our annual driving assessment which for me, consisted of having to weave the ambi through a narrow town centre whilst doing a running commentary on every road sign, hazzard and bump in the road.  It’s a formality as the person who assesses us rides with us most months so knows full well how we drive but he has to tick the box. We spent the rest of the day napping, gossiping and drinking coffee whilst watching absolutely no one crash.  Thats my kind of duty!

I got home to find that Duke had finally taken the Christmas tree out and had rearranged the living room a bit to try to make better use of the space.  I think I like it, Aprilia definitely likes it as she has a "den" behind the sofa now which she has adorned with any cushion that didn’t look like it was in use.

Aprilia in fact spent most of today in her new den.  But I absolutely had to stay in teh same room in pennance for not being there yesterday and because Duke made her cry as soon as she had got out of bed yesterday morning (he told her rather sternly to take her thumb out of her mouth aparently    she does seem ridiculously over sensitive to Daddy shouting at her)  She also declared that she hated maths and hated English and hated Science but she was okay with History and lots of The Hobbit.  Deep breath…..  I resisted telling her that I hated sulky children who didn’t know what a good thing they were on to……but I did insist on her doing an extra page of maths because she had been so horrid about doing the first page and that I would keep going until she did it nicely     She seemed to think I may mean it to did the next page very nicely indeed    We both need a good dose of fresh air and real proper daylight!
