square eyes
we have aquired some new "edutainment" software, Magic Schoolbus Animals and Spelling Blaster, actually tehre will be some more in a bit but those two were available yesterday so she played. and played. And Played! Pretty much all day she played on them. Then she had Sonlight (she is still loving The Wheel on the School) and The Family Under the Bridge (one of our "dug out every year for Christmas" books) and some Dark Is Rising. And she read to me very nicely with minimal wailing and moaning - a Christmas miracle if ever there was one!
Meanwhile I spent almost 2 hours staring at the laptop trying to coax it to do what I want it to. First AVG needed to update and that took WAY TOO LONG because I don’t use the laptop very often so there are always shedloads of updates every time I turn it on. Then Java needed to update which was irritating as I thought I’d done it when I was messing about with Open Office a few weeks ago. Then I finally opened Firefox only to realise that I have that set to auto update and there is a new version. Sigh. I only wanted to install MobiPocket so I can put books onto my Palm!
No idea what I did the rest of the day but I seemed to fill it….
