why can’t it always be this way?
Aprilia sprung out of bed this morning with a written list of what she wanted to make out of a craft book, complete with page refs. So, after excavating the dining table she set to with very little assistance from me. In fact, I sat reading Child’s History of The World to her (all about the Persians trying to beat the Greeks) which she was really into so we did the whole lot which was a bit of a turn up for the books as usually she’s not much into ancient history!
We nipped to the library to wave a tearful goodbye to the Spike Milligan book we had had for nearly 6 weeks and had a ggod browse. Alas for my bank account The Works has re-opened so I got book and poster packs on the body, the night sky and Egypt which were all on special offer and are all things she was expressing interest in. I’m trying to run more with her interests, you know, since I’ve been told I am autonomous and all that….. actually it’s so rare for her to express an interest that I’m grabbing it and running with it before she loses interest again!
This evening she’s worked really hard on some Stile Reading stuff and I read a full chapter (supposed to be spread over several days) of The Wheel on the School which is proving to be a popular book, followed by some Roman Mystery which mentioned the very same Persia vs Greece story I’d read to her earlier - good timing hey?
I’m hoping I can hussle a bit more crafty stuff out of her as it seems to be a good way to keep her hands busy whilst I sneak some education into her so I’ve rummaged and found quite a stack of crafty books on the shelves which I’ve left in provocotive poses round the house for her to notice!
