busy bits and bobs
today we nipped up to Duke’s mum to pick up some crafty bits dhe decided she didn’t want after all, on the way back we grabbed a flea collar for Whiskers (and successfully put it on her, she must be mellowing!) then, flushed with the success of putting a collar on without losing any fingers we watched Merlin and dashed off to the violin lesson. Spent a lot of time talking to one of the other mums who was vaguely concerned that her dd was Dyxie, having compared notes I recommended she had a think if it really mattered if her dd was dyslexic or not as she home educates and thus doesn’t have the pressure to deal with words in the same way and tried to explain the foibles of it like the poor short term memory etc that don’t really stand out as being part of a condition which means "dificulty with owrds" but which are really the parts that cause the most trouble. Stayed for tea there then dashed again because I needed to be at Red Cross tonight to repeat the assessment I messed up the other week. How come the re-test scenarios are always really, really easy and the initial ones so damned hard???? Also found time to do a Christmas pressie order on the net which has covered most of what I need to get without a single rainy shopping trip. There was some brief excursions into learning but in a scattered sort of way. No idea what this week is going to bring but i do know it needs to include an excavation of sevearl floors…..
