in retrospect….
perhaps buying a firework called "thunderation" wasn’t such a good idea…… 24 BIG bangs! But at least my choice didn’t fall over and try to shoot Duke and or attempt to set the house on fire.
Rainbows was good this week, I worked on the principle of if in doubt feed them so we made "sparklers" and then introduced them to the essential Guiding skill of making Smores over tea lights! We also had a "campfire sing song" round the pretend fire (coloured tissue paper and sticks, another Guiding tradition - you may not be able to have a real fire but hey, we need something to sit round!)
Today she has been very studious, done lots of Miquon, a page of Wizard Whimstaff English and some non-verbal reasoning which is really rather easy for her so far. There was also stories with extra added Hobbit. And we braved teh shoe shop for a decent pair of shoes as she has gone and grown out of those expensive Clarks ones I got a few months ago (how inconsiderate!) and came home with some lovely, well fitting, cheap ones and a pair of black trainers for Kung Fu (as well as general wear, she will still grow out of them before she wears them out) There was also supposed to be a bit of arty crafty stuff but we sort of ran out of day.
Tomorrow she needs to finish off some arty stuff for Brownies, we need to nip to the library and look for the book she has been recomended for her Booklover badge (Brown Owl took pity on me and decided to specify a choice of 3 audio books rather than picking a book for me to read to her) so taht we can finish off that one adn we need to get stuff ready for a trip Off The Path on Saturday. Not a lot then….
