active sort of day
This morning she went round to L’s house to play on the new trampoline, and learned that whilst 3 children on one the size of Jade’s wonderfully big trampoline is fine and dandy, 3 children on a 5′ wide one just does not work. First L came in screaming that she had fallen over and it was all Aprilia’s fault because she had bounced to hard and made her over-balance, then, after a brief spell of taking it in turns, they all ended up on at the same time again and somehow Aprilia ended up banging her nose on O’s head (O being L’s 2 year old brother) thankfully she didn’t notice her nose was bleeding cos she was crying which always makes her nose run…… (and I was on tissue duty, wiping it up fast before she noticed!!!!!) Only O managed to make it to the end of the mornign without melting down
So, after one failed attempt at maiming herself she decided she would try rollerbooting. She’s had kiddie skates for ages but they just don’t roll very well any more and she can only just cram her feet in them so I said taht if she emptied out the Cupboard of Doom (that space under the stairs where everything gets shoved) and found them then she could have the ones I bought a few years ago. They are a bit big for her but actually, not by an awful lot. So she played on them most of the afternoon.
Then it was the Rainbows picnic in the park. Having rushed to get there on time I waited….. and waited…… one mum had phoned to say her dd wouldn’t be there due to a family party so I was expecting 10 girls. One arrived. We waited a little longer then decided we could wait just as easily in the play area as the parking area. And an hour of playing later we went on a little walk round the park, said hello to the ducks, got rained on and went home. I’m vaguely annoyed that it didn’t occur to any of the other mothers taht common courtesy might suggest a phonecall to let me know. But then again, we did have a lovely time so it’s their loss!
Now I’m going to go and sort out all the heaps of stuff that came out of the cupboard adn decide waht we can freecycle and if any of it is actually worth selling instead!
