I'm planning on putting tinfoil round the pots, Linda, aparently they don't like tinfoil! Actually, our slugs don't much like sunflowers, it's the tender little carrot shoots they prefer... grazed off last year's entire crop before they had a chance, I'm temptd to buy huge bell cloches to protect them but it does seem a little excessive somehow!

Slugs will climb up the pots (the little blighters have eaten one load of out potted sunflowers already!) so I would advise talking some form of action if you wish to keep your sunflowers (gravel/holly leaves perhaps?)

well, yes, having a stay at home child makes for a cheaper sort of life but I'd take an average of yours and mine any day and have a bit of a social life adn a bit of a home life!

What a nice sounding day. Am wanting a child who would like to stay home. I was talking to a friend whose kids go to school and she says her kids see their home as a haven from school/the world whereas Clo sees home as a base from which to go out and explore the world. Made me feel a bit better.
