T-Bird Anni Rides Again

muddy girl

Filed under: Aprilia, Life, Learning stuff

We spent most of the day in the garden today, seemed a sensible plan as she’s much nicer to know when the sun has been on her (hmmm, you know I do wonder if she suffers a bit with SAD)   So whilst I read SL books, plus extra added Roman Mysteries, Narnia and Harry, she pootled about making mud pies.  Then we potted up teh sunflowers and sweetpeas into something bigger and scattered carrot seeds over some compost in big tubs (I don’t rate their chances much, teh slugs dined on last year’s crop but maybe tehy won’t bother climbing up pots?)

Somehow that filled up most of the day!  Doesn’t look like much really does it?

  1. What a nice sounding day. Am wanting a child who would like to stay home. I was talking to a friend whose kids go to school and she says her kids see their home as a haven from school/the world whereas Clo sees home as a base from which to go out and explore the world. Made me feel a bit better.

  2. well, yes, having a stay at home child makes for a cheaper sort of life but I’d take an average of yours and mine any day and have a bit of a social life adn a bit of a home life!

  3. Slugs will climb up the pots (the little blighters have eaten one load of out potted sunflowers already!) so I would advise talking some form of action if you wish to keep your sunflowers (gravel/holly leaves perhaps?)

  4. I’m planning on putting tinfoil round the pots, Linda, aparently they don’t like tinfoil! Actually, our slugs don’t much like sunflowers, it’s the tender little carrot shoots they prefer… grazed off last year’s entire crop before they had a chance, I’m temptd to buy huge bell cloches to protect them but it does seem a little excessive somehow!
