T-Bird Anni Rides Again

well, sats that then!

it would appear that far from needed a "literacy hour" every day, all a child needs is 5 minutes when mummy remembers in order to pass at level 2a one’s KS1 SATs maths!  And she didn’t even bother finishing all the questions as she got bored before the end    I mentioned that if she was at school she would then need to do the "level 3" paper and she said "oooh, what’s that one like then mummy?"  trouble is taht one is lots of telling teh time so I fibbed and said I didn’t ahve  copy as time is a complete mystery to her!  I’m happy knowing she’s well up there for her age, I already know she’s a genius really don’t I emoticon  and it does make one feel pretty damned good about the whole HE thing to see how well she did with how little actual effort in "teaching" her.

I’ve offered her the English one if she fancies a go and she’s thinking about it but I have no intention of pushing that as she still doesn’t believe she can read (despite teh fact that she is rattling through yet another level of readers with little effort….)   I suspect she’d do okay-ish on a good day and ***** awful on one of her not-so-good days (she’s always good with numbers, words seem to come and go)

I blinked and it was Thursday!

Yesterday we sort of bumbled along, went to Rainbows, got them all thoroughly covered in icing and sugar strands (they decorated cakes!) and then spent some time vacuuming up the mess from the floor

There was another episode of Bed Ed including more spectacularly good reading and some very acceptable Miquon take away sums.  There was totally off the schedule Sonlight reading too, well, you didn’t think I’d get through 36 weeks following the schedule now did you?

Then, just as Duke and I settled down for an evening of telly he got a text.  Seems there was some sort of important football match on in Manchester adn the big screens set up to let everyone see it broke.  Chaos ensued and thus the NW Amb. Service was instructed to congregate nearby to ferry the worse-for-wear off, leaving the rest of teh NW of England without an ambulance to be had…. cue the Red Cross and St John being dragged from their evening cocoa to fill the gaps!  I’d link to it but thre seems to be a problem with my system and pop ups

Today we are mainly slobbing about, we may pitch the tent again, but then again, it’s a bit grey outside so we may not bother.  There has been a promise of lots of stories and I do need to post a few letters but that’s pretty much it til what should be bedtime, at which point we are off to a lecture from the fire service as part of our ambi aid training thing.  If I get a chance i may make her a pompom rabbit as she’s being enrolled in Brownies tomorrow night (and she’s in Rabbits) and she wants a little rabbity thing!

Oh, and I need to do some OU work too really, time management is SO not my thing!  I really would do much better if I had to report to Teacher every week you know….. is that conditioning by The System or just me and my dyslexic brain?  No idea but it’s a ***** nuicance at times!
