T-Bird Anni Rides Again

tent ed! (and a bit of Bed Ed!)

The sun precipitated a mad urge to put a tent up in the garden the other day so we were in and out of that most of the day and I ended up reading Sonlight books to half the neighbourhood (seems like Greek Myths are a universally popular thing then!)  She had quite a surge on reading, there seems to ahve been another of those little leaps in either confidence or ability, resulting in me having to make good on a glib offer that for every mini book she read to me I’d read her a chapter of HP5.  Sigh, those chapters are LONG!

yesterday we went for a walk in Delamere instead of going to JJs.  It’s a very pleasant way to spend a morning you know, although Aprilia didn’t seem keen on sharing it with anyone, usually we’d stay for ages but she seemed to ahve had enough rather quickly by her standards.  I got the Rainbows paperwork almost up to date (still have a letter to write saying taht 1 meeting is cancelled as I will be camping with NicCamps and one trip is on a different week cos the original week wasn’t free) and did a bit of shopping ready for this evening’s meeting (they are decorating cakes to celebrate teh 21st birthday and most of them will only eat cake out of packets  ) then we curled up to watch Dr Who on iPlayer.  Somehow we’d forgotten to watch it on Saturday.  Naturally I sobbed through the bit where Jenny was shot but was rather surprised to see that Aprilia was all sad too, she’s normally totally oblivious to sad bits, so even though the ending was somewhat restorative we adjourned to the kitchen for chocolate milk and cow biscuits just to be sure.  She had a shower before bed (as we suddenly realised she had half of Delamere in her hair!) and thus needed to sit up whilst her hair dried so I offered "school" and hence it was 9pm before she lay down and I was reminded that actually, bedtime seems a good time for her to learn, especially in summer when there’s far too much fun to be had outdoors during the day.

And now it’s jsut past 8am which I know without even looking at my clock as the next door neighbour has just started screaming at teh kids to get into the f-ing car, to the acompaniment of "I can’t find my reading book" and "M stole my pencil case"   Geee, don’t you just love not having a school run to do!
