yesterday I was somewhat unexpectedly on duty - Harley told me the wrong day… he’s still not right you know
So Aprilia got dropped off with A (really must think of a set of names for her family!) at Jungle Jim and off I toddled to the civic hall for 700 members of the WI having a meeting. Picture the scene…. 700 ladies of advancing years, who have been swigging coffee from tartan flasks all morning, all trying to use the 10 available loos in the 1 hour allotted for lunch….. not a pretty sight! Of course, a fair few headed over to teh local pub for lunch and thus reduced the queue slightly, some even remembered to come back for the afternoon session
And you would not believe how loud 700 women are when they chat!
But anyway, it gave me a chance to finish off that assignment I pretended to do at Melrose and transcribe my tutorial from dictaphone to words so all was not lost. I sent it off in utter disgust last night, don’t think it’s my best work but hopefully it is a pass and, as I will attempt to remind myself regularly, it’s a pass I’m aiming for, anything above a pass is a pleasant bonus.
Today has been characterised by frequent visits to the meds lockbox for potions and pills to ease headaches, coughs and general unwellness. Not sure who was most pathetic really, me or her! I did try to wash off the grumpiness with partial success for both of us, I’ve never figured out how this works but I can say that grumpiness is water-soluble and that extra solvents such as pleasant smelling bubbles seem to loosen a bit more of it.
We attempted to go to a home ed group but it was too noisy for Aprilia, we may try again when she is less headachy but to be fair she doesn’t like the kind of horse play and the likes that tend to characterise some of these types of events. She lasted long enough to paint some really lovely flowers onto a teeshirt and make a finger puppet then slumped and asked to go home.
In fact is shows how weary she is, she fell asleep chatting to me in bed at 7pm and has been snoring with that "child with a snotty nose" snore ever since.
