T-Bird Anni Rides Again

sturdy but softly padded strapping to secure child to bed in the hopes of keeping her in it long enough for sleep to catch up with her.

This morning we were at JJs with a very over-tired L (who had kept A up most of the night) and a fractious Aprilia who was just not coping with the noise level (for some reason we were knee deep in toddlers today…. not good!!!)  We kept chasing them off to play and they kept coming back to interupt our socialisation efforts (that would be gossiping then!) 

Eventually we declared them excercised and wandered over to the pet shop to get guinea pig food only to find a sign saying "closed until 15th January"  Cough… had we slipped into an alternate reality maybe?  So no GP food (they dined on carrots and whatever out of date nuts and seeds I could find in the cupboard…. hope they don’t get used to pumpkin seeds, pine nuts and hulled sunlfower seeds cos I’m not making a hbit of it!)  Should have gone to Asda and got some from there but couldn’t face it - Friday afternoons are just vile on town.

A came back to ours so that Aprilia and L could do more "work" together which rubbed along okay although there were a few dodgy moments like when L tried to play chess to "her" rules whilst Aprilia was trying to play on the Quick Chess board with just pawns and a king.  I suggested draughts using the pawns as a safer option

Just after they went the LEA lady phoned.  Purely on teh grounds taht Aprilia was peeved taht she was excluded (by me) from lsat year’s visit, I agreed a date and time then informed the family.  Aprilia got all excited and declared taht she wanted to finish every puzzle book before then (u-huh…) and and Duke pretended to be interested.   

then it was tea and bath time and as we hadn’t done stories I hauled the basket upstairs for "bath ed" (like bed ed but wetter…)   We got through everything and added a bit of HP5 then retired to my bed whilst her hair dried off and she did puzzles.  Funny how she works harder at puzzles at bedtime than at any other time in the day…. really hard….. for over an hour!!!!  If I could stand it I’d consider doing it that way every night but I need MY time too you know   Anyway, it’s now just past 10 pm and she is finally in her bedroom although quite obviously not asleep (and almost certainly not in her bed) unless she is sleep-singing and sleep-crashing-about (she’s almost as clumsy as me that one you know.)  Sigh. 

Of course, this wouldn’t be so irritating if I wsan’t at that point in the month when I need calm, quiet and smooth running (not to mention lots of chocolate, cake and understanding   ) 

I’ve lost my house keys.  and they are a huge set of keys, also containing the drug cupboard key, the Rainbow lock box key, the key for the room we hold Rainbows….. Had them yesterday to unlock the Rainbow box to do the money but no idea where they went.  B**ger!!
