the day my DatNav died….

I "won" 2 car seats on behalf of hte Red Cross on Freecycle and arranged to pick them up this morning.  So grabbed the SatNav, punched in the post code and waited.  And waited.  And… well you get the idea.  10 minutes later no signal so I flipped to the advanced planning option and followed what was effectively just a written set of instructions leaving me to try to read road signs whilst other drivers try to make me drive faster by reducing their braking distance to about a fab paper of my exhaust.  I am allowed to drive at exactly 30mph in a 30 area you know!!!  It’s not against the law!!!!  As an aside, why do councils insist on postitioning road name signs where you can’t see them until you are either level or just about to go past the turn???  but anyway we got there eventually and only went about 10 miles out of my way between getting there and home again.  Not bad for me emoticon  The unit still hadn’t found a signal by the time we got home so I think I can safely pronounce it dead unless Duke can breath life into it again (he’s handy for that sort of thing)

We took L swimming this afternoon without her mum.  She did really well, had a beaming smile on her face teh entire time and never noticed that her armbands were just inflated enough to stop them falling off her arms rather than properly puffed up emoticon   took her home after then Aprilia invited her back to ours to "do work together"  so they spent an hour doing puzzle books at the kitchen table.  Turns out when A came to collect her that that was teh first time ever she had gone anywhere without her mum .  It’s a bitter sweet thing when you realise that your child is no longer totally dependent on you being there isn’t it?  Our babies are growig up before our eyes and happily fluttering those little wings.  Sob!!!
