Fox in Socks

Filed under: Aprilia, Life, Learning stuff

Now, learning to read is not an easy task but I can’t help feeling that some days she makes it harder on herself than she needs to!  We have all these easy, stage at a time type books all availabel so what does she sit to read to me?  Fox in Socks which is damned near impossible to not fall over yourself trying to say out loud regardless of how good you are at reading.  But she made it to the end with much hilarity and only a little assistance.  I am once again ignoring the fcat that she has this on CD (and can therefore recite large portions of it without looking) since she turned the pages at the right time and that’s good enough for me!

We went to Polar Palace yesterday by way of a change from Jungle Jims.  Seating much better, slide faster, more things to scrabble over and crawl through but rubbish trampoline, costs more, vile coffee.  So swings and roundabouts really.  On balance I think I prefer Jungle Jims but our problem is that we ahve gone to the one the Beans go to that is huge so anything is going to be second best after that!

The books for my next course arrived yesterday, barely any compared to the last one which bodes well for my being able to keep up  and there are "reding weeks" this time, a thing hiterto unknown in the courses I’ve picked.  I think that means that you should hear slightly less of me wailing that doing a degree was a stupid idea and what was I thinking emoticon

This morning we wrapped Christmas pressies but ran out of apper - strange really as I know I got a red roll and a silver roll but now we can’t find the silver one - so need to go to Asda on Monday to re-stock (at which point the other roll will turn up!!!)

Internet is marginally better today, it’s gone from 2g to 5g (gosh, that’s fast!!) but has dropped out again this morning a few times.  Speed was provided by swapping out the really old filter from by the door for a brand shiney new one (of which Duke ahs a drawer-full.)  BT engineer suggests taht providing a new cable to upstairs taht doesn’t go under any carpets and therefore doesn’t get trodden on would probably go a long way to curing the remaining problems.  So waht I’ve said for months then hey?  Sigh.
