T-Bird Anni Rides Again

2 good days

yesterday was the RAinbows trip to see Santa at Petty Pool (which does have a website but as all it has is a holding page with the Guiding logo I’ll not bother linking!)  Before getting to see the main attaction they went on a walk in teh woods, joined in with a nativity play, made a Christmas card and bought goodies in the "bazaar" (or what us mortals would call a shop!) The woods were a bit muddy but the weather was lovely thank goodness so we didn’t get soggy.  After that Aprilia sort of invited herself back to one of the Rainbow’s house for a play date.  Hence I had time to get apauled by the cost of a DS at this time of year and to be thankful that I got hers ages ago (like the minute I saw them in Asda!)  Play date went well but as usual ended with tears (why oh why does she always end up in tears????) after a few hours over some imagined slight about being allowed to ride a bike (it had no front brake so B wouldn’t let her ride it!)

This did mean we had time to go home and get changed to go to the Christingle service at mum and dad’s church where the children were asked to come in the national costumes of different countries.  So, she donned one of my skirts (which looked long and flowing on her), a shawl and Duke’s Mexican hat for a somewhat Mexican-ish look.  Quite a lot of the Rainbows were there too and ended up making a sort of "enclave" (or is a spectrum a better collective name for Rainbows?) near the front, abandoning parents to their own company.

Today had a late start as she didn’t emerge til 9am and I was far too comfy reading in bed to bother going to poke her.  We tidied up a huge amount in her room which now looks if not great then at least safe!  Tried to attack the living room too but we ran out of interest and she settled down to make paper chains to decorate her room whilst I read to her.  We like Child’s History of the World.

This evening I have rebelled against the "tradition" of spending lots of money on tat for family Christmas gifts and bought for most of them off the TraidCraft site.  Duke now needs to get for his bro and bro-in-law and we are all done.  Sigh, not going to be totally tat free then are we…..
