The BT man cometh…

Hole was finally dug yesterday and man in a van arrived this morning, looked down the hole in a interested sort of way, looked in the back of his van in a curious sort of way then got on the phone. He chatted whilst looking down the hole, he chatted whilst taking a second peep in the back of the van, he chatted whilst rifling through paperwork in the front of his cab. Then the AA man came (huh????) and they both peered in the back of his van, faffed about a bit and then BOTH drove off.
I guess we can live with the crackling phone and intermittant internet a few more days then…. mind you, we got 4meg last night aparently (and I’m assured that’s good, but not as good as wot we should be getting!)
I have the Rainbows Christmas party tonight so I need to sort out letters saying when we start back, my new Policy On Subs Being Paid (or your child loses her place to the next on on the list….. I can be mean you know!) and a rough guide to what we will be doing. I doubt I can gte the full plan done so they can get that first week back. Also need to sort out food for tonight!!! I have 1 batch of cakes and biccies done, need to do some more and maybe nip out for a few bits in case the mothers don’t bring the promised contributions.
Education has fizzled. It’s dull, rainy and chilly so we are suffereing from cabin fever, the only cure for which appears to be TV and painting aparently (but then, are they really doing much at school at this time of year apart from the nativity play rehersals and making Chrimbo decs?) ACtually i just need to get a grip but I’m too darned tired - anyone know wehre I can get one of those SAD lamps from????
Whiskers has been spayed and is now "recouperating" by charging round and leaping up at the guinea pig cage like nothing has happened. Aparently she will rest more for the first few days - oh yeh? Next week she’s allowed to go out, must work out where we can put a cat flap then!
Well, these cakes won’t bake themselves so i shall womble off then!
