T-Bird Anni Rides Again

(not so) quick blog

internet is very shakey - down to 300ish kb the other day which basically means it’s not working!  Cause is the phone line which has always been poor but intermittantly so (making it hard to trace)  It took some very (read that as extreemly very….) blunt talking from Duke to TalkTalk to get them to send an engineer as when people phone us it sounds all bright and dandy to them (and like trying to listen to a not really tuned in radio station to us)  He finally got sense out of them by holding up the telephone ear bit to his mobile’s mic bit so the woman could hear waht we could hear.  Teh BT engineer phoned the next day……. He came, he saw, he prodded at various bits with his screwdriver.  He says it’s at the junction where the bundle of lines that runs down our road splits off for our line and the man with the digger comes tomorrow to dig a hole to find it, then an engineer will come out to mend it, then someone will come and fill in the hole, then we will get the 8meg internet we ahve been promised for nearly a year (sigh)  (cue a rousing chorus of "Twas on teh Monday Morning when the gasman came to call….)

Grumpiness has now resolved more or less and yes, it appears I can’t count 4 weeks competantly any more (but I’m sure I’m not normally THAT grumpy THAT early!!) hey ho,  I can, however, count on another 4 weeks and know that I shall be grumpy for Christmas!!!!  Yipeee!  In-laws and hormones!!  Any comments about dyslexic children only being capable of doing Foundation tier at GCSE may well get the response it full well deserves……

Aprilia wants the Christmas tree up like now.  I have pointed out taht we need to be able to find the living room floor in order to do this so she is currently "tidying up"  I can’t tell you how effective taht is being but I can tell you that the poor kid has no hope really - thre isn’t a tidy gene to share between any of us in this family……  anyway, festive decs will be applied to the living room as soon as the chaos has been moderated a little!

  2. I have a tidy gene, but also a procrastinator gene and a lazy gene, so I am doomed to be permanently frustrated with the state of my house and the state of myself!!!
