only in a home educating house….
…. could you here the words "put that maths workbook away, it’s way past bedtime!"
We didn’t manage to do much during the day between taking Whiskers to meet the vet (who says she is 5 months old and lovely), watching HP5 (again…. there could just be the smallest hint of OCD in that child you know…. shame it doesn’t stretch to tidying up really!), swimming, taking a long bath and watching Autumn Watch (see, not much at all really!!!) So I offered stories whilst she bathed and puzzles whilst her hair dried off a bit. By 10 past 9 I suggested that she had probably done enough maths for the night and, yes her hair was reasonably dry
She’s been spured on by the fact taht we got some more Miquon books the other week that had been part used by someone YOUGER THAN HER (oh the horror…..) so she has decided to play catch up. We started Miquon Orange a few years ago but put it to one side in favour of various other full colour ones that I thought she would like better. then she found it at the bottom of the drawer and got all excited and it appears it’s just the right format for her (silly me thinking colourful pages would be nicer
) She also decided to do double reading/writing as she was nearly at the end of a section on MFW and the puzzle pages start getting slightly more interesting now that all the phonic elements have finally been covered and from now more or less relate to the story in the reading book. If only I’d realised that all it would take was a Bible based reading scheme I would never have spend all those £££££ on those full colour, full of cute critters Jolly Phonics books (only my child could get this excited about having her very own easy to read Bible hey???)
Plan for tomorrow is Jungle Jim in the morning (A phoned me earlier begging for adult company and an excuse to let her 2 run off some steam!), excavating the living room in the afternoon and hunting down my fingerless mitts so taht I can keep my hands warm and still play guitar at music group in the evening (and failing taht I’m crocheting a pair!!!)

I hope it won’t put her off too much to learn that it was actually C who did the Miquon. M only got half-way through the orange before deciding it was not for her.
