The magic of shared stories
We were all on duty today thanks to a mess up with rotas, Remembrance and cart racing - not ideal as it’s a long day but no easy way out either.
I took heaps of stuff to keep Aprilia amused including HP to read to her and puzzle books. She happily worked through heaps of good old Wizard Whimstaff, managed a few pages of Stile Phonics and then we settled for a story. Suddenly I not only had Aprilia but 2 other little girls curled up with me looking all enrapt with the story! Kept the 3 of them quiet for a good half hour before my voice failed!
Duke is sickening for a cold (as am I) and I’m hoping he will be fit for work in the morning, he’s been in bed for an hour but is doing the groaning, coughing and sniffing thing rather than sleeping. Best go and nurse him a bit
