long day but a good one
between getting up at 6am (really should remember not to have bedtime drinks) then evreyone else being awake half an hour later it was an earlier than I’d like start! By 9am we had drawn with child. The worksheet was a big hit - she happily copied all the elements of the bird in different combinations without realising then drew teh whole thing. Must do more stuff like that, it obivously helped her see how the little bits fitted into the whole. Actually I wonder if that’s a general issue for her, would explain the way she doesn’t see the difference between two words taht are a similar "shape" etc. Then she did something with small bits of paper whilst I did the dishwasher and then it was Zoombini time again. I can see an obsession forming here…. We loaded the Island Odesy one which is very different in format to the Maths Adventure. She can manage some of the games on her own, some with a bit of coaching and some she can’t "see" how to do yet but I’m sticking with the thinking out loud which is how she "worked out" how to do the other ones.
This afternoon was swimming followed by HP4 which she insisted I watched with her instead of slinking off to have a shower and switch MY PC on!!! Eventually, after more Zoombini-ing I conned her that it was bedtime (shh, it was 6:30) and filed her. Switched the PC on to find 100+ mails and 77 items in my RSS reader (was very releaved to find taht 70 of them were pics from the Beans!!!!)
Just about got caught up when Duke got in from the computer fair without a copy of XP for me but with 18 pairs of fancy edge cutting scissors in a fancy rack. I predict millions of strips of fancy edged paper breaking out all over our house by this time tomorrow
