T-Bird Anni Rides Again

why does busy always mean mess???

Aprilia has been busy busy all day.  She has been doing stuff with paper dolls from the Making Friends website (so lots of bits of paper) hama beading (and gosh don’t they smart under your feet!) bindi beading (less painful under foot but have more staying power…) and a few other bits too.  In between that she also did a bit of Study Dog, read a few pages of Cat in the Hat to me, studied a times table chart with an alarming degree of intensity, had stories, played with the kitten and hand washed a heap of her clothes in the bath (don’t ask okay?)

I put the world to rights with a lovely lady from another Red Cross centre who was dropping of de-fibs for Duke to reprogram (new protocol whotsits came in so we hvae had to reprogram all the clever stuff so it does it in the new way…. until they change it again naturally!) We managed to cover all sorts including a really good bitch about some of our members and a good letch about some of the eye candy who are either Red Cross members or parameds that we work alongside.  If I am half that quick at 65 I will be oh so pleased!!

Provisionally it seems that the contract taht Duke is working with his second job has been extended now until March which means we can a) have a good Christmas, b) clear off all the debt taht isn’t mortgage and c) treat ourselves to some second hand DSs so that when we give Aprilia her brand shiney new one at Christmas she can ritually humiliate us both by beating us at everything    oh, and we can get the box set of HP books as several of ours are either to tatty that pages are falling out or missing so it will be nice to have a matching set in a slip case.  I am a bit wary though, I can see us getting very comfortable with the higher wages, getting used to buying what we want, when we want then it all falling through in March and us having to re-adjust to SmartPrice living again.

I’m hmmm-ing and haaa -ing about a Sonlight order at the mo.  I want a book taht I can’t get from Amazon and it’s as cheap to get it from them as anywhere else and I was wondering about grabbing maths stuff (the rest of teh Miquon set probably) at the same time but then Wellyboots mentioned a free and very nice looking on-line maths site which covers everything, is interactive, has teaching bits, review bits and earn yourself a certificate bits adn best of all is free.  So now I’m wondering if it would be easier to unleash her on that a few times a week instead but then we like Miquon…. argh, this home ed is tough you know….

worried about Harley

Harley is still off on the sick after his chest pain scare a few months ago.  The hospital put it down to a severe anxiety attack and sent him off home.  Which is fine.  However, until a stress ECG is done (to check how his heart works when he puts a bit of strain on it by walking several thousand miles on a treadmill) his GP will not start exploring other reasons for the sudden illness.  In the mean time he is falling apart at the seams and all we can do is sit and watch it happen.  Last night on the way back from a duty he put petrol in the diesel ambulance.  Now, this is a mistake that anyone who is a bit tired at the end of a long day can make, and he certainly isn’t the first to feed taht ambi the wrong food.  However, he was on the brink of tears with it all when he came to pick up the ambi that I’d driven, which is just not him.  He just keeps swinging from really happy, bouncy daftness to really black moods and I don’t think that lurking round the house all day every day is helping him much.  Just wish there was somethign any of us could do.
