I've taken out names in the mail (cos I'm like that) but this is what was posted the other day on Freecycle after our Modder repeated the guidelines for the n-th time about how we are supposed to post up taken messages, and any other messages for that matter.
A lovely email from the moderator tells me that I have to put the names of the people who have taken the items posted previously.
Apologies to those who couldn’t care less who had taken them, but for everyone else who surely can’t sleep at night without all the info:

The books are still available to anyone who would like them and can provide their name address and inside leg measurement in readiness for the "taken" post and the benefit, seemingly, of everyone’s peace of mind!
Now, I thought this was a fairly lighthearted response to a situation that is, quite frankly, ridiculous. This Modder has posted up more directives than I care to think about, the group ran quite happily before he took over without all these directives and I'm not sure really how every item having a detailed history of who from where got it has got to do with the concept of Freecycle being a means of keepign useful stuff out of landfill. He howerver took it as a full frontal attack and left the group in a flourish of stomp worthy of any small child.
Oh dear, that did make me grin. I am list-owner of a freecycle group and it is difficult enough trying to get people to put the area where the item will be picked up. We don’t try to enforce the “taken by” rule. I think if someone had posted that in response to something I had posted, I’d have been giggling

It will be wrapped in some code which has tags <pre>
Copy the text out of Wordpress into Notepad or whatever and then recopy it and paste it over what is there now.
