T-Bird Anni Rides Again

September 11, 2007

more of the same

nother good day :-D   I do suspect that the incentive chart may have a bit to do with it but then I can live with that if all it’s going to cost me is a few packets of stickers and trinkets from Asda if it means she looks after the GPs and does her chores.  My pocket money was always dependent on chores and I don’t see this as much different really (but cheaper!!!)

She spent ages marbling in the back garden this afternoon whilst I read to her.  The smell if turps is much more tolerable when the breeze is wafting it away.  In fact she had her hands busy most of the day between colouring most of the morning whilst listening to a **** Fairy Magic CD (well, at lesat it excuses us from reading it to her), marbling, paper weaving with me and some cutting and sticking project that kept her happy even if I’ve no idea what she made.

Yellow overlay again was the magic bullet for getting her to confidently read.  Just at this point i don’t care if it’s pacebo, mimicing me or genuine, it’s working which just makes life so much easier all round.  I must get round to getting her a pack of the yellows so we can have them available round the house.  I suppose I should start her a recipe book too, I hve one with blue pages to save me messing wtih specs in the kitchen, maybe a nice sunny yellow one would be a nice thing for her "hope chest" (yes, she really does still want a hope chest…. ho hum, must get round to getting a nice box for it!)

Whilst she was being magically entertained this morning I did more compost turning in the Rainbow boxs.  I’ve nearly whittled it down to 3 boxs now (from 6 overlfowing ones) which gives me scope to maybe do a bit of fund raising for a parachute or some other big games for the unit as I’ll have space to store it now!

First Rainbow meeting tomorrow - all nervous and excited about it.

Paper weaving (oh, okay, I did it with her help….)

Tidied bedroom and tried to shift pen marks off her wall (once I can find the tin of paint it will be so much easier…)

not so much sherbert fountain…

Filed under: Life, Learning stuff, yum!

more like a sherbert geyser!  Wow, but home made sherbert is powerful stuff!  Next time I’m adding more sugar to dilute the fizz a bit more!

Learning stuff is going well still, the Miquon is way easy for her but I like to do a bit of easy stuff with her to build up the confidence, we move on to "harder" stuff soon enough!  Wizard Whimstaff is still popular, the English is getting hard for her now but the science is still well within her reach.  I’ll dig out the next age group of those in a month or so I suppose (think I still know where they are…) Incidentally, I just Googled on the venerable Wizard so I could link through and you know what?  a fair portion of the Blogring seems to be represented on that search!!!!

There was a fair degree of sleepiness in the morning, in fact I was VERY RUDELY AWAKENED at 8:30 by MIL phoning to see if I had had a good weekend, she only ever phones that early if Aprilia is sleeping late…..   So we took it easy and mainly lolled about in the sunshine.

We made the Darlek biccies packet mix that she insisted i bought last week.  They are very average really but I can do them again with decent cookie dough now we have the all important cutter.   Duke likes them but won’t take them to work in his buttie box for som reason - apaprently people would talk…. poor boy, 40+ and still bothered about people giggling at him….

We did a concerted effort on the bathroom spured by me taking the new toothbrushes up stairs and using the old one to give the taps a quick doing.  I do that every time, it’s a sort of token effort towards shiney chrome taps, but this seemed to trigger a full scale sorting out betwen teh pair of us and it looks much better now.

Somehow the day slipped away at that point hence I’m blogging late.  Oh, and I’m abstaining from eraly morning PC time in an attempt to get more done.
