Long busy day
Quite apart from getting up at 5am (because Duke’s phone had rung and startled me so much that I was AWAKE!) and having selected and reserved a new tent before most decent people have left their beds it’s been a busy day!
First there was getting the tent and, seeing as we were in town, replacement trousers for the pairs that have got lost somehwere (un-worn adn probably still with the labels in….) She also got a skirt, it’s dark blue with box pleats just like I used to wear at school - she loves the **** thing! We also got the other bargain of the day (half price tent being the first one) in the shape of 8 tubes of watercolour paint for £1 at the bargain shop - she is well impressed with them and I fear poster paint is not going to reach her standards any more now she’s used the good stuff!
Was lunchtime by the time we got home and unpacked the car. There was a brief break in the unrelenting dirzzle so I had a practice with the tent at which point it started to rain again so it’s just a little damp and just stuffed into the car rather than stowed in it’s bag. Easy peasy to put up though which is good news. I really should fold it up nicely before I set off but then again, I may just not bother and shove it in a few carrier bags insread.
Swimming this afternoon was okay but she was beginning to wind up. Beign given a bag of clothes from her favourite "spare auntie" didn’t help- how excited can one girl get about fur lined boots???
Then she reached feverpitch and started circling the ceiling when we got home. She normally needs aspartame to get that high. I ended up locking the bathroom door and having a shower, then wondering if ti was a good idea to leave her unattended when she was like that, cutting the showe short adn qucikly diving back out only to find that the kids next door had called on her and she was out playing. That gave me 10 minutes until L upset her and she came wailing back in. So i booted her off for a shower instead - limited damage she can do in there!
Duke took her to his borther’s for a while (he probably thought it would be a good way to still have a live daughter and a wife not incarcerated for infanticide by the end of the day) and I polished off the last bit of the last course book. So it’s 1 last TMA now and then revision time. Scarey!
Aparently Aprilia lost the power of speech whilst out and resorted to signing for home and bed which she hasn’t done for quite some time. I think it’s a combination of being reminded of signing by doing it at Red Cross and the anxiety/excitement of 5 days in Scotland with Granny and Grandpa preceeded by a trip Off the Path in a New Tent. Way too much for 1 little girl to cope with.
Jan, I'’m planning to leave after lunch but if she’s just too unmanageable I may head over early on the grounds that we can throw her out in the garden and vent some of it at the moors rather than bouncing off the walls whilst I try to make chocolate squidgy cake, the prospect of which caused her to shriek at almost supersonic levels with delight.
I think I may have to apologiese in advance for any vile behaviour from either of us this weekend…. pass the chocolate someone (but at lest I know where my mooncup is this month)
