“Sports day”

I got a "sports day" set from Asda the other day, it was at less than half price and looked good value for £3!  So today we had Sports day!  We had sack races (she won)  we had egg and spoon races (50/50) and we had balance the beanbag on the head races (I won - her hair is too glossy!)  Then we did beanbag toss, eggs and spoon tossing, who can throw the most things into a hula hoop, who could get most of themself into a jumping sack (picture the scene…. me trying to wriggle into a nylon sack designed for small children to sack race in….)  Then I noticed that hte lavender needed pruning and spent an hour reducing that by a serious margin, and to those who say it doesn’t re-grow from the woody bit I say HUH?  cos mine is!

Then we had lunch as they say…..

Then we went to the library for hte final bit of the Big Wild Read - got 2 more sets of stickers and a bookmark plus our ticket for the presentation evening when she will get hte medal and certificate presented by the mayor.

Whilst we were in town we nipped into The Works to see if they had got any paint in yet and came out with some rather posh felt tips for her which she has promised faithfully to keep in their case when not in use and scetch book for each of us.  Did I mention I’m learning to draw? Hmm, I’d brace yourself for a few more comments on that over the next little while!

Then there was car washing and soaking with the hose and more general silliness (the car looking marginally clearner by the end!) and then Red Cross which was another bite at signing.  She has now declared she wants to learn to sign so tomorrow I’m rummaging round the net for a decent video and book for us to learn with as I suspect it will go much easier with a video to watch rather than trying to work it out from a book!

I’ve been tagged!

Little Mummy has tagged me, in fact to be fair, Little Mummy has tagged me twice but I’m being disorganised about it all!

So…. first tag - why I like blogging as tagged on the British Parent Bloggers hub

I like blogging cos

It gets the day out of my head and recorded in some shape or form.

I get to pontificate about whatever I like whenever I like and never have to look at those glazed expressions of people who have no idea what or why I’m on about!

I get some very lovely, and some very silly comments from people who are my friends but who I only get to see maybe 1or 2 times a year.

I get to show off what a wonderful, inteligent, cheeky, gorgeous,  thoughtful….. child I have been blessed with (and to rant a bit when the halo slips!)

Moving swftly on now to the second tag, this time from LittleMummy’s own blog

8 things you may or may not know about me….

  1. T-bird isn’t my name (no?  Really?)  But Anni really is my name, I may even have a birth certificate to prove it if I could find it. (A Triumph T-bird is a bike that, were I a foot taller, I would love to own and ride!)
  2. I’m adopted, my new family changed my name.  Some part of me wonders if, one day, my real mum may read about Anita Cameron’s exploits in Blogland and realise I’m her baby.
  3. My driving instructor used to write "L" and "R" on the backs of my hands to save confusion.  These days I wear an ID band on my left wrist for the same reason.
  4. I’m life-threateningly alergic to latex (not uncommon) but also bananas (cos I just have to be awkward!) and just lately also cats but they just make my eyes sore and my nose run, it’s nothing a Piriton won’t cure!
  5. If I don’t do something for a while (like play my guitar) I forget I can do it adn lose all confidence.  Then again, once I remeber that I can, it’s a lovely surprise!
  6. I once got half way to town before I realised I’d left Aprilia (then only a few months old) at home - I only realised because it suddenly dawned on me that it was too quiet!
  7. I still don’t know what I want to be when I grow up but for now mummying is filling the time perfectly
  8. I’m learning to draw.  Not just doodle but actually really, properly draw.  I’ve always, as far back as I can remember, desperately wanted to be able to produce good pictures and now I’m going to learn.  I have the book, I have lots of paper, a stack of good pencils and a lovely set of watercolours to finish them off with and I am going to kick that lame bit of me that says "I acn’t" in the head until it gives up and lets me do it.  So there.

So…. who to tag…..

For the first one, I’m supposed to tag 3 people so that’s Making It Up, Off the Path adn Petits Haricots so I get potentially 6 for the price of 3 then!

And I’m going to cheat on the second one and say that if you haven’t done this one recently and want to then do it and leave a comment here!!!
