Fantasy summer budget anyone?
As highlighted on another blog, it is, aparently, expensive this time of year, in fact …
The release of figures showing just how much parents are going to have to fork out for their children over the summer holidays is becoming as well established as rain during Wimbledon fortnight. For those of you who haven’t been saving like a demon – look away now – because the latest figures in from Abbey show that families expect to spend an average of £741 keeping their kids occupied over the holidays. So, whose up for a fantasy budget for what we are going to spend this huge sum on then???
I suppose I have to start with camp - £50 to camp, £60 in fuel adn £20 for a "meal" out over and above our normal food.
That leaves me just over £600 to play with….
Hmmm, Nintendo DS? ACtually then I’d have to have one too wouldn’t I so that would eat into the figure fairly substantially when you add in a few games!
a huge stack of Aquabeads? And Landlocked but I can’t find the link - Merry?
new bedroom furniture? or does that not count as a summer holidays expense then
Okay, well, considering the current weather, maybe waders or a new rainsuit?
I suppose if I took her to a soft play area every day (£3 a go, 5 days a week, 6 weeks of "summer holidays = £90 although every 10th trip is free I think) that would add a bit on? And of course it has the added advantage of me being able to sit and listen to my course books on headphones whilst she plays…. actually taht one could have milage
coo, endless options…. but no time now, off out to work again in half an hour adn I’ve not had a shower yet - eep!
