and then we had lunch (wink)
Well, today was a shade on the busy side. Started with silly games on the sofa. Then I launched into clearing the craft/dining area of my kitchen which had dissapeared under far too much crud and all the camping stuff. That took huge ammounts of time (most of the day by the time I’d got distracted with stuff I found, decided to pull out all the shelves to see what other gems were hiding back there, being "helped" by Aprilia….) In fact I’m not entirely sure I *did* have lunch! I know Aprilia scavenged through the fridge for a while so she definitely did….
There was also a couple of chapters from the first of the Roman Mysteries books which is quite different from how the BBC are presenting them and really, really good (to the point where I sat and read on for my own enjoyment for a while under the guise of "checking out the next few chapters for tricky to pronounce words and anything historical I might need to find out about before we get to it") as well as a bit more from Our Island Story before doing our current flavour of the month puzzles which are the Wizard Whimstaff ones - not very taxing so far but good consolidation and a bit of fun. Then we slogged through a bit more reading, sadly I’ve let it slip a bit so she’s really struggling again, looks like see needs the daily practice to keep up the progress although I’m hopeful of the following the CD meathod producing results as of course it has the advantage of not having Mummy making her do it!!!
I think I was shooed off to do a bit of studying myself then as she wanted some TV time without me so I obliged her and launched into the next topic (Gothe’s Faust which is light releif after German Romantic Philosophers arguing in seriously long sentences that only those with their own personal religion can truely be artists…)
And then we had tea! Mushrooms on toast - yum!
After that we get to the reason I was so intent on tidying - my "needs assessment" which is the final bit of the whole process that I’ve been ploding through since February. The upshot of the visit is that I get some new software and a support tutor to do study skills and exam skills with me and as a result of having study skills tuition I get sundry stationery items for me to learn how to study with including printer ink, paper and post it notes (which really amused me for some reason…. I can just picture the "lesson"… "this is a post it note, you peel it off the pad and stick it places…." )
Then I FINALLY got my PC time!!! Wandered aimlessly round, and stumbled over a site showing another different way to do long multiplication that I understand signficantly better than that drawing of lines one linked to elsewere! Much less confusing that the longwinded way I was taught, so that’s filed for the future then! On the same aimless ramble round other people’s links I found free maths worksheets and telling the time sheets as well as a whole site about telling the time and other time related stuff.
and now? it’s bedtime…. (where’s that snoring smilie when you want him??)

Yeah, but my link to the weird drawing of lines thing was more funky, it had a movie and stuff. No idea what the heck it was doing, but it looked really neat. Yours just has squares, and diagonal lines, how boring is that.

Well obviously Tim,. your method is way more funky, I would be a fool to disagree with you there now wouldn’t I! This way is more likely to work for someone who can’t draw straight lines if her life depended on it though
And naturally Helen, once I’ve lerned what post-its really are for I shall share this info with hte world
