phonics jonics and other delights
One day she will call Jolly Phonics by it’s real name….. but not yet I fear! However she watched both videos back to back today whilst gazing at the books and tracing the letters with her fingers (she’s never done that before!) She’s also read 4, yes, 4 booklets to me with absolutely no wailing, weeping or becoming filleted over my lap (you know taht totally floppy thing that sulking children do) and has discovered taht once you get past the initial drudgery of "the cat sat on the mat" and onto being able to read better then the books get better too! So I’m preparing to buy the Party Fairies box set from Teh book People (and naturally will need to bulk up the order a bit to get free posting now won’t I!) so the Red Cross had better not foul up my wages this month.
She’s decided she wants "Jolly GRammar" after she’s finished the JP workbooks. Hmm, not sure, it’s not a workbook set as such and it’s a lot of money (isn’t everything educational!) I’d prefer something else (Stile is still right up there at the mo) that is either cheaper or can be sold on afterwards.
Also today I’ve waded through the next bit of my course, taking copious notes as I know this section is in the exam (I love this knowing what topics will be there!!) and did some serious eye rolling about Owen’s ideas that all ills can be cured by educating the child to be nice and happy
Although he does have apoint about them picking up stuff from those they spend time with - Aprilia is at least as messy as everyone else in this house, maybe if we had the threat of inspections by the mill owner we’d be tidier? Nah….
Anyway, some poor soul staggered onto my blog having searched for something from the last TMA - hope they weren’t hoping for help or any enlightenment on what to write!
