if only all tutors were this good
My tutor e-mailed me yesterday to explain that the TMA I just submitted may take a while to get back to me as….
it’s coming up to half term (and she has a child)
She is also covering another tutor group for the same course whose tutor is ill, this group is about to sumit it’s final TMA before the dreaded Exam
She is tutor for another course which is also submitting a final TMA before the final course assessment this week.
So she hoped I would understand if it took more than 2 weeks for the marked essay to get back to me.
My reply was to enquire when exactly in all that lot she was planning on eating and sleeping and of course it was fine if it took a bit longer (cos I’ve learnt now not to wait for the last one to come back before starteing the next), she just replied thanking me for such a supportive response.
In contrast, some of the people on the OU forum for this course are waiting over a month after the cut off date to get each essay back(and it’s 1 essay per month so they don’t get one back before the next is due hence no idea if they are heading in the right direction at all), getting scant or zero communication and zero help if they can’t get to tutorials (Karen e-mails tote notes to me along with anything else she things I may find useful)
Someone somewhere was looking out for me when I got that tutor!
