Aprilia was somewhat catatonic this morning, she was okay whilst I just wanted her to sit and listen to stories and was quite okay with watching a bit of class TV but then we moved on to a fwe puzzles.  All I wanted her to do was tell me if mud had a short u or a long U sound.  This was obviously a cruel and unsusal form of punishment for a tired little girl and she sort of disolved into a tear soaked wimpering wreck.  I sent her to bed to listen to several story CDs and compose herself….

So several hours later she emerged looking much better, carrying the 2 Cabbage Patch dolls who are my twin babies (called, aparently, Alisha and Lucy)   There was a long and complicated game where I needed to BF the babies rather a lot because they couldn’t have bottles (see?  indoctrinated from an early age!!) and they got bounced about a lot on our knees whilst we listened to Radio Cebeebies on the net.  Suddenly she wanted to do puzzles "with the babies" so she did - just so long as I made the babies interupt her at regular intervals by "trying to look what she was doing".  Hey, i’m not proud, if that’s what it takes….

There was a rather iritating conversation with Duke at tea time.  I mentioned that I had sent an e-mail to my OU regional centre as I’ve had my report back from the assessment for 4 weeks now and they haven’t been in contact to progress things - once the Ed Psych has sent the report I then need a "needs assessment"  to see what "assistive technology" and what exam allowances i need.  Now, the exam is not until October so there’s plenty of time but then everything takes months….  I also mentioned that at this rate I wouldn’t get any of my stuff until I started the next course, you only get stuff whilst you are actively studying a course so if you don’t get to the end of the process before you get to the end of your course it’s all put on hold.  He made some remark at that point taht really made me want to hit him.  It was along the lines that I was only doing this course to get the toys and that it would be a shame if I *had* to do another to get all my stuff.   erm, ’scuse me?  I’m only spending hours studying each week, sweating over essays etc so I can get a new laptop and a dictaphone?  So, all those other courses I’ve already done were what?  A halucination?  An odd little dream I’ve flitted in and out of?  or were they just so that I have a nice little row of 10 point courses to use with Aprilia later?  Sigh.  He keeps muttering that he needs to get on this bandwagon (he’s probably Dyxie too, he has a lot of the same "glitches" I have) so he can get new stuff and I keep telling him he needs to be able to complete a level 2, 60 point course otherwise he would have to give it all back and pay back the assessment fee.  Considering he can’t manage to book himself onto a level 1, 10 point course that he’s really interested in I ccan’t see it happening….  Okay, rant over!!!

Off to curl up with Wordsworth and romantic views of the Lakedistrict!

makes you proud to be English?

I’ve managed to watch 2 out of the episodes of "Victoria’s Empire".  This morning I watched last night’s episode, the last one.  you know, it really does make me proud to be English (NOT!)  seeing what my ancestors did with their lives.  Between the utter arrogance of insisting that indigenous peoples came under our soverignty, coverted to our ways and let us lord it over them like the superior race we are (cough) not to mention shipping out our children to a new life on the other side of the world having told them that they are going somewhere great only to dump them in children’s homes worse than the ones they were taken from we really haven’t covered ourself in qutie the level of glory we could have done.

Sort of makes you wonder what people 100 years from now will think of what goes on now really.
