T-Bird Anni Rides Again

1994

that would be the number of words I finally squeezed out of my TMA, so 6 off the "target" - I can live with that!  Need to read it through again in the morning to make sure I’ve not written garbage but then it’s off and I can move on!

Play has been mostly not interupted by rain today - they just carried on regardless in that "we are out here and until anyone points out we shouldn’t be we are going to pretend we haven’t noticed the rain" style that most kids seem to enjoy.

I ran up 1 pair of slippers for Aprilia, they turned out reasonably well but I know where to alter the pattern now to make what I was aiming at.  She has decided they are crocheted ballet pumps and just wants a bit of ribbon to finish them off.  Will do a pic when I can keep her still long enough for the camera to focus (a-hem, so that means I need to slip them onto her sleeping body then does it)

Today Aprilia learned a very valuable lesson… if you scratch the tops of scabs they bleed worse than when you damaged yourself in the first place  but if you gently rub half a gallon of emulsifying ointment on them instead it’s soothing and the itching goes away!  Consequently she has spent a fair portion of today with her hand in the cream jar to sooth all the battlescars she’s accumilated over hte last few weeks.  Trouble is the muck sticks even worse to her when she’s got an inch thick layer of ointment on  her legs!

We read about William the Conquerer today and she asked some rather searching questions about it all.  It still amazes me how much she loves this history book!

Now I have her choir robes to iron (eeek!!!) before morning and have another go at the tent sock pattern with a veiw to getting it right before I run out of cheap yarns….

the joys of technology!

The phone rang about 20 minutes ago and I was treated to the sound of background conversation and race kart engines…. Several attempts at bawling down the phone failed to attract attention but I did recognise enough voices to be fairly sure it was Duke’s phone so, being a woman of modern means, I grabed my mobile, phoned Harley (who is at Oulton today) who phoned DayDay (whose phone number I don’t have but who was at the Kart track) who told Duke to switch is **** phone off!  Ain’t technology great
