bits and bobs
I was woken to the sound of the blender running this morning…. I went from unconcious to wide awake, dressed and downstairs in no seconds flat with images of Aprilia blending her hands 8-o Fortunately it was just a few carrots being blitzed as she wanted to make me a nice smoothie to wake me up (aw, how sweet….) but we don’t have a juicer any more so she thought she would try the blender - works fine for berries, useless for carrots aparently though!
She watched the new (yes, I really did say new) Words and Pictures on CBBC for a while but they aren’t a patch on Sophie in her lighthouse finding sound shells so she stopped after an hour or so
I investigated the free access day on RAZKids and set her going with the level A animated books and quizzes. She read 5 out of the 6 no trouble but declared herself bored before finishing number 6 and ambled off to play on Dancemat Typing in her room. I do like the RAZKids format but no way am I paying $$$$ for just 1 child. However, tomorrow is free for all on Reading A-Z for which my subs ran out a while ago. I suspect that I may spend a fair chunk of tomorrow downloading as much from there as I can then look at hte vocab and writing sites Thursday and Friday….. I like free stuff
We read about Harold in Our Island Story (tomorrow we get to the Battle of Hastings…) and she took great delight in telling all the ladies at crafts this afternoon about her lovely history book so obviously we are still getting milage out of that one then! She also knitted lots this afternoon and has nearly mastered holding the yarn properly all the time to keep the tension right rather than picking it up and dropping it all the time.
This afternoon we watched the first of the Roman Mysteries on BBC (followed by the second episode over on CBBC!) She’s hooked and is soaking up all sorts of stuff (ranging from volcano behaviour, earthquakes, slavery…..) so I think I can consider that time slot as educational for a week or two
Anyway, I’ve got 500 words of my 2,000 word essay all neat and tidy so only another 1,500 to go and I can move on to the next block and still be just a little ahead (but not the 6 weeks ahead taht I started in February….) Ho hum. No one said it would be easy, but it is intersesting!

romans programme looks excellent. glad a has all her fingers still!
