Voting stomp!
Duke was a presiding officer at a polling station yesterday. There were 2 seperate "wards" in the same building (so two lots of voters) Duke’s ward got 17% turn out, the other ward polling at the same station got 14% turn out. WHAT GIVES??? Would these people prefer we lived in a dictatorship????

well, we didn’t turn out, but we did vote. Or do postal votes count as turnout?

Postal votes count as turn out, it’s marked down on the register that the polling station has (so that you can’t go and vote twice) so Duke counted the 6 postal ones in too.
We had internet voting for one local election last year, it was so much easier, don’t know why they didn’t do that one again.

Because maybe they realise that it doesn’t make a lot/any difference? We voted (postal vote) but it’ll not make any difference to the result, this is True Blue land round here.
Re Net voting, there are a bunch of issues around that (there is an article in last weeks Gruaniad technology bit. however, there is a more limited trial going on again in a few areas.
