brain ache
my brain is decidedly achy today, something to do with sleeping very deeply and having to work my head around the logistics of collecting yet another big white box to add to the numerous white boxs adorning our kitchen, working out which ones are staying and which are being passed on elsewhere…
You see we were offered a small fridge the day ours died, so I legged it and grabbed it quickly. It’s lovely but SMALL!! The same day, later on we were offered another one, it’s much bigger, has a small freezer on top but isn’t in such terrific condition, could do with a new seal as it’s distorted at 1 corner etc. It did mean though that we could empty and unplug our dead one (which still had a working freezer) Then Duke spotted an upright freezer for £50 in BuySell which he collected tonight. So we have 1 lovely (almost new) big freezer, 1 lovely but old and tiddly fridge, 1 bigger fridge with small freezer and our old dead fridge freezer all in my kitchen. My kitchen isn’t *that* big really…
In other news, the 700th birthday service for the church was good, our old vicar came and it was nice to see him again, we had good fireworks afterwards and all in all there were very few forsty faces… we have 2 almost totally seperate congregations - the morning lot who are mainly under 100, can still remember how to smile and may even occaisionally enjoy a song written within the last 100 years and then there’s the Evensong lot who beleive that anything written after the end of the 19th century has no place in the Church of England - obviously the service had music covering both congregations so there were always going to be faces pulled
Tomorrow we have stage 2 of the great kitchen re-shuffle whilst I figure out what will go and what will stay and where to put it all. Then I start planning some SERIOUS batch cooking to fill up all that lovely freezer space…. more than twice teh space I’ve ever had in a freezer…. ooooh, the excitement!!!
