I LOVE FREECYCLE!

Guess who has a "new" frige?  Yup, that would me ME!     Not only that, it’s bigger than teh old one (which was always a fraction too small so stuff got stuffed in rather precariously at times) and it only has a small freezer bit which gives me the perfect excuse to get an under the work surface type freezer adn have seperate units rather than a combined one where you are stuck with our current quandry of a working freezer with an insulated cupboard on top of it.  Hopefully this one will last a few years thus spreading the cost of replacements better than needing to buy a combined unit every time one half of it breaks.

Other than that today I made a few more ADC chicks for the Easter baskets the craft ladies are making (getting this toa fine art now!) whilst Aprilia played with probably the brightest red play dough I’vev ever made - it was fabulously red!

Aprilia has decided that she is going to give up suckign ehr thumb for Lent (after me deciding I was going to leave her to it!!!)  and insisted on us getting some Stop’n'grow from the chemist to help her.  She has made a distressing discovery about that stuff - the taste doesn’t stay on the nails…. if you put them in your mouth, the taste gets on your tougue and stays tehre for an hour or so afterwards (where’s taht barfing smilie when you want him??)

  1. Personal experience: you learn to like the taste.

  3. But hey, great if she actually wants to. That’s the key thing. What worked for Clo was old fashioned fabric plasters as they reminded her that she wanted to stop - and within a week she had!

  4. Michelle, judging by the look on her face this afternoon, she really does not wish to lern to like that taste!!! In fact she was distraught and had to go and brush her toungue with my extra minty toothpaste to mask it  We tried fabric plasters but actually she likes the texture of fabric in her mouth and I was worried about her scuking the **** things off in bed and getting them stuck in her throat. I’m actually not 100% sure she is ready to stop, she’s worried that her teeth will be wonky but she still likes and seems to need the comfort. We shall see!

Kirsty, didn’t seem to be any freezers on offer but we have something called Furniture Finders near here where you can go and buy reconditioned white good as well as furniture very cheeply. I phoned them today and they said they ahve a lot of stuff pending electrical safety checks wihc will be done on Friday and that there should be a freezer in amongst all that lot. That would be about £30-£50 depending on cosmetic appearance etc (it’s all donated goods) and that will hopefully last us a bit! Obviously ideally I want a huge chest freezer in the garage and an American style fridge in my kitchen (ROFL) full of food so I can pluck nutricious and tasty meals out in an instant (stop laughing at the back!)
