Torchwood (warning - spoiler alert!)

Okay, if you watch Torchwood and have yet to watch the final episode STOP NOW!

If you have no idea what I’m talking about you may as well stop now as well…

Okay, so, did anyone watching the finale feel the "messianic" theme was taking things just a shade too far ;-)   All his friends turn their backs on him, one doesn’t so much betray him as make a damed serious attempt at killing him all on his own, he sacrfices his own life (bearing in mind he is imortal more or less) to save the world from the biggest satanic baddie the effects department could make (beats the old Dr Who baddies into a cocked hat but I’m sorry, still not as scarey as Cybermen and flying Darleks in a single episode!!!) then comes back to life 3 days later, reconciles himself with all his buddies, magnanimously forgiving them for totally screwing everything up then "ascends to Heaven" (well, okay, the Time Lords come and take him away…)

How on Earth are they going to follow THAT with the next series??????  and couldn’t they have picked someone better looking for him to smooch with????

  1. You know, I didn’t spot that at all, but maybe that isn’t the sort of thing on my mind ;) And I did watch it directly after the one with the smooching, so I was still a bit stuck on that tbh.

  2. It didn’t click with me until later, maybe it was just because I had several hours awake to brood on it then! The 3 days thing was an almost throw away line from one of the cast because Gwen had been keeping watch over him for so long.

Maybe I should just try sleeping at night and stop brooding over waht I’ve been watching instead!
